The Friends of Neighborhood Connections

"Friends" groups are a familiar part of many non-profit organizations and are invaluable community ambassadors. Since its inception over 10 years ago, our Neighborhood Connections volunteers continue to be an integral part of this organization. We sincerely could not do the important work we do here without their support.
Recently we formed a Friends group of our own to provide support for our social programs and fundraising activities - spearheaded by a volunteer liaison. What sort of activities will the Friends of Neighborhood Connections be involved in? Some examples include; assisting residents of Smith Haven with their community garden; staffing and fundraising support at our Mountain Town Circus, scheduled for September 10th; tabling at Farmer's Markets this summer to spread the word about the organization; assisting with campaign mailings; riding along on the Mountain Town Connector during their monthly social outings; creating and implementing small fundraising events; and more.
