Social Services

Our Approach to Helping

We work as partners to walk alongside the person who is dealing with life’s challenges.  Together we  create an individual service plan which defines their objectives and goals. We believe that each person has strengths and we work to encourage, support, and empower people to overcome their difficulties and improve their lives.

We network with other advocates, health and social service providers, agencies, charitable organizations and community assisters to make help easier to access for our community residents.

Meet Our Social Worker

Noreen Lenilko joined Neighborhood Connections five years ago as the organization’s Social Worker. In this capacity she assists individuals and families who come into Neighborhood Connections by connecting them to immediate needs and resources such as economic benefits, housing, food and transportation. She walks alongside them with continuing support – helping them develop long-range plans for sustainability.

Noreen graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Southern Vermont College in Bennington, VT.  She brings several years of experiences working in the social services field. Before coming to Neighborhood Connections, she worked for Sunrise Family Center as a Transitional Coordinator and then for Upward Bound, serving as the Associate Director.

She continues to meet wonderful people in the community - not minding the 30 minute drive up the mountain each day from Sunderland, VT where she resides with her husband and their “amazing dog,” Shuba. She is eagerly awaiting the birth of her first grandchild.
