Social Services

Our approach to helping:

We work as partners to walk alongside the person who is dealing with life’s challenges.  Together we  create an individual service plan which defines their objectives and goals. We believe that each person has strengths and we work to encourage, support, and empower people to overcome their difficulties and improve their lives.

We network with other advocates, health and social service providers, agencies, charitable organizations and community assisters to make help easier to access for our community residents.

Counseling Services Available

We have counseling services now available next door to us. The Peoples United Bank has generously allowed us to use the room (where the Chamber of Commerce formerly resided) and there are three counselors available by appointment only. This arrangement makes it convenient for those who can not travel beyond our community. All take Medicaid as well as other insurances.

  •  Kelly Wicker, MA, LCMHC offers mental health counseling and can be reached at 802-258-9044.
  • Annie Friedman, MA, LCMHC has extensive experience working with children and young adults - particularly those who have experienced or are experiencing trauma. She can also counsel those with drug or alcohol issues. She can be reached at 802-442-9377.
  • Dean Hammer, Psy. D., is a licensed psychologist who provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. He provides counseling for depression, anxiety, eating disorders and substance abuse problems. He can be reached at 802-353-9024
